weekend fun and not so fun

Weekend....
Current mood: blessed

So ya, everytime i roll over onto a lump in my bed i think its my dog and i start to cry. YES, gonna whine and moan and share my misery ONLY because i had such an awesome weekend, despite the sadness i felt everytime i sat on my couch and missed the sound of her nails tappin on my floor when she’d round the couch looking for a scratch. UGH!!!! Ya, its that bad.

Friday was a blast.

Saw Vee & Ellie do somthing at reggies. Still not quite sure.... but i laughed. ALOT.

Then....

Me and dawn n choppr went to liars to meet jen, had a few, then back to his place for some drinkies..... and eventually got back out around 4am to head over to eric n steves for a late night sioree. Mike, Greg, Tony (new friends YAY), Angela, Phil (ooooo phil....), eric, Fisch(er), and a couple more whose names are slipping past my memory right now. We all sat around the big boys table and shot the shit, drank PBR (yup, even i will in a pinch) and jibberjabbed til 7 a.m.

Dropped Chops off and went to bed.

Slept. More.

Saturday I headed over to DD for Tight Phantomz and Elec 6. Ya know, i forgot how amazing the Phantz are. New drummer? Hollly hold my shit! That man can p-l-a-y.

Elec 6 were typical fun, but alotta pushin and shoving and some tense moments. Went home sometime right before or right after they finished. You tell me....

Had to get up by 11 to take a STARRING ROLE (small time extra) in Sybris’ video shoot. I went to Westmont! AND LaGrange Park! I know. I am so well traveled.

Was fun, made some new pals (Nicole, may we get rained on together all day today and look hot in our wet tshirts) and i always enjoy spending time with my brutha eric, not to mention shaun, phil, DAVE, angela and the silliness that ensues regardless of the situations we are found in.

Today I am leaving work any minute now to go to the UH cubs opener (WHITE SOX) with bobbi. Its a crap day to see a crap team but i bet i have a good time regardless.

More to come...........

So i digress....i have LOTS to be thankful for. But i still miss my baby.

jesus and fame took a high dive. my first full song....

jesus and fame took a highdive ((my first christian rock song))

jumped off his high dive
and we just complain
you read all the tabloids
and yearn all the fame

but what we dont see
what (the) pictures dont show
is a man (he) can falter
but fame just says no

(chorus)
jesus he lept
and we make our choice
ma, not my leader
but life is my choice

The blues i cant find
Yet im told its all there
My tree i cant climb
you dont know that its there

But what i do know
the valleys i see
is my life can change
dig or drop, up to me

(chorus)
jesus he lept
and we make our choice
ma, not my leader
but life is my choice

(bridge)
A marked man who faltered
and all know his name
But before him and after
there are more the same

(GUITAR SOLO!!!!!!!!!)

(chorus)
jesus he lept
and we make our choice
ma, not my leader
but life is my choice

There is no ending
this writes on along
But like minds switch channels
hit play the next song

I dont claim perfection
but pen what does flow
Screams my needs are simple
but life can still say no

(chorus)
jesus he lept
and we make our choice
ma, not my leader
but life is my choice

lunchtime adventure, i may lose tense in places....but since there is no correct punctuation i don tcare

Ah monday. but not just any monday, its a holiday-seaon-monday. shoppers, homeless, snow, wind and cta.

So today me and nita my lovelty coworker decide to embark a short journey to urban outfitters to pick up the "beatles finger drums" for our boss- its her bday tomorw. So nita called the state street store to see if they had them in stock. and ya know? she said they did. hurrah! so we put on our warm wwinter coat, snuggled into our scarves (i have no gloves or a hat.... tell me about it) and walked to the blue line.

whilst awaiting the nothwest bound el to take to monroe a woman approached us askin which train would take her jackson, to pick up her north bound red line train. she lives in rogers park. was dropping her son off at county. had to walk 10 blocks to court cause she took the wrong train. he got 120 days. 30 more than last year. she is afraid of him. so is her daughter. they live in his fathers house. he died when he was 13. thats why he is so angry. usually he lives in texas. he is on medication but isnt takin it. her daughter is afraid of him too. its her birthday. She is being evicted if she doesnt come up with money by.... does this say the 14th or the 16th? At this point i let my ligitory partner in this adventure take the reigns. contracts and all...

well, its says the 14th. no, i think its the 16th. is that business days??? calendar days accroding to nita. but she has to call the cable company. she doesnt need the boys room fitted with cable anymore. she got cable so her dying of cancer friends can watch. he lives with her too.

ahhh here comes the train. we say farewell to our new friend. may not have been so clear because t was kinda hard to understand her without any top teeth.

SO.... walking down state street i see a VERY handsome man walking towards us. goodness, its randy gerber, cindy crawfords hubby. he stops, asks us where the best lunch place is and offers to take us. ok, no he didnt but i saw hot randy gerber and we made eye contact. whatdayougot?

enter urban outfitters.... ugh what a nightmare. and that was just the hideous clothes. the michigan avenue tan on the ulta hip pierced sales girls were only made more annoying by the fact that they did NOT in fact have the finger drums in stock. but of course i was my usual charming self and asked them to call another store. done, at wicker park, ill pick them up tonite...etc....joy... traffic... i digress

exit the store. 2 women and neither wanted to shop. on to The Rack- a clothes whore dreamscape. how long did we last? seconds. mere seconds. the store was in shambless, every rack torn apart, shoes strewn amock. amock. say it a few times... amock amock.

so outsy we go. even faster.

To the chase food cafeteria. a nice change of pace- we dont have anything like that on our side of the loop. very cutoff and quiet. we enjoy a nice quick snack, sushi for me, a soda for nita, and proceed out the door to the blue line station that is conviently connected to the building.

ah, back to the cta.... and the "entertainer" howling incoherent holiday ditties, that took enough time to stop and let us know that its been a hard sell on the platform today because of the emotionally constipated people around here. we both drop 50 cents in the lunch box he has out and he asks us to just stand in front so he can sing to us. guess where we didnt stand? yup. i tapped danced my way to the other side of the platform awaiting my 50 cents for entertaining. and nita followed suit

do lunchtime train always take FOREVER to arrive? seriously. dude.

and that was our little luncghtime adventure

Holy Moley! Beauty Marks Keep You Younger
2 hours 28 min ago by bellasugar [+]
Woo hoo! Cindy Crawford and the rest of the mole people have something big to celebrate. A new study reports some great news for those of us who have plentiful moles (or beauty marks, if you prefer):
Scientists claim that those with lots of moles are years younger biologically than those with mark-free skin. ... They may retain their youthful looks for longer and could be at lower risk of a host of age-related diseases such as heart disease or osteoporosis.
Could this be the reason Cindy looks amazing at 41? As someone who also has a beauty mark on her face, I'm hoping the answer is yes! Do you have moles? Have they affected the way you feel about your appearance?
